This painting was inspired by a perfectly captured picture I took on sunny day in October of a pelican flying over the calm beautiful aqua colored waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The oceans beauty and vastness always draw me in and recharges my soul. Seeing pelicans at the beach is also mesmerizing with their huge wing span so majestically soaring inches above the water’s surface. It is always a treasure to coexists with these aquatic birds. The spirit of the pelican is said to be associated with virtues of humility, generosity, sacrifice, and unity.
